Dr. Zubia Mumtaz is the Director of RMF Pakistan’s research wing. She is also an Associate Professor at the School of Public Health, University of Alberta, Canada.

Dr. Mumtaz’s research focuses on global maternal health, specifically on the social determinants of women’s access to maternal health services, exploring how class and gender inequities of societies are reproduced in maternal health policy, design, and delivery of services. Her particular expertise is combining principals of quantitative and qualitative research methods. Our research in Pakistan specializes in women’s reproductive health with a focus on access to services and inequities in policy, design, and delivery of services within the government healthcare system
